The Temple Owls are finally ranked!

The Temple Men's basketball program is ranked in the top 25 for the first time since November 2001. The Owls were finally able to get in the top 25 after defeating two unbeaten teams, Villanova and Seton Hall back to back. The Owls are 9-2 on the year and have multiple impressive wins including Siena, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Villanova and Seton Hall. To further their resume they lost a one point heart breaker to #15 Georgetown.
Perhaps the biggest reason for the Owls great success is their stingy defense. They are ranked third in scoring defense by only allowing 55.1 ppg which is very impressive when you look at all the high scoring offenses they held way below their averages. They are also 4th in 3 point percentage with the opponent only making 23.9% of their 3 pointers. The Owls defense is one of the most impressive defenses I have seen in a few years.
Temple has a week off before they play Bowling Green at the McGonigle Hall - the Owls old home court. It will be a retro night and the team will be wearing a jersey from the 80's. Temple will look to keep their win streak alive the next few games before they take on Kansas Jan 2. As always... Go Owls!
